These restrictions were already in place for products coming from Hungary, Slovakia and Germany.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This update is particularly relevant for those of us working in <strong>international food logistics<\/strong>, especially when it comes to <strong>groupage shipments<\/strong> and <strong>temperature-controlled transport<\/strong> to Great Britain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Let\u2019s break down what\u2019s changing \u2014 and what steps you can take to prevent customs delays.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What do the new restrictions involve?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Starting <strong>27 March 2025<\/strong>, the following products <strong>can no longer be imported into the UK<\/strong> from FMD-risk countries (including Austria):<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>hay and straw<\/strong>;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>fresh meat<\/strong> (chilled or frozen) from ruminants and pigs;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>meat products<\/strong> that have not undergone approved thermal treatments (D1, D, C, or B);<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>milk, colostrum and dairy products<\/strong> not treated as required by EU Regulation 2010\/605<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Groupage and customs checks: how to avoid delays<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As often happens in sanitary alert situations, the most immediate impact is felt at the border.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">UK authorities are reporting frequent <strong>blocks due to inconsistencies in documentation<\/strong>, especially in <strong>groupage shipments<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">1. All CHEDs must be valid<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In groupage transport, even a <strong>single CHED<\/strong> (Common Health Entry Document) under verification can cause the entire shipment to be held.<br>Always check the status of CHEDs in <strong>IPAFFS<\/strong> and <strong>CDS<\/strong>, and consult with the Port Health Authority about the possibility of physically separating consignments or submitting a new customs declaration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2. CDS must be updated too<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If a part of the load is removed before arriving in the UK and its CHED is cancelled, it is <strong>crucial to update the customs declaration<\/strong> in CDS.<br>Otherwise, the shipment may remain blocked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">3.
