Today we want to share an important update regarding <strong>exports to the United Kingdom<\/strong>: the British authorities (DEFRA) have updated the documentation requirements for the <strong>transport of raw milk and dairy products<\/strong> subjected to heat treatments below pasteurisation.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-8c80fa6 elementor-widget elementor-widget-spacer\" data-id=\"8c80fa6\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"spacer.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-spacer\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-spacer-inner\"><\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">What has changed?<\/h2>\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-8b6c4c7 elementor-widget elementor-widget-spacer\" data-id=\"8b6c4c7\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"spacer.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-spacer\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-spacer-inner\"><\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-19c576d elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"19c576d\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h5>Application of the GBHC416 certificate<\/h5><p>According to the new directives, <strong>bovine milk products<\/strong> intended for human consumption that have undergone a heat treatment below pasteurisation must be exported using the <strong>GBHC416<\/strong> certificate.<\/p><h5>Obligation of additional documentation<\/h5><p>The GBHC416 must be accompanied by supporting documentation, such as a <strong>production certificate<\/strong> or a <strong>declaration<\/strong>, certifying that the heat treatment has reached a <strong>temperature above 40 \u00b0C<\/strong>, thus demonstrating that the product does not fall under the definition of \u201craw milk\u201d according to Annex 1 of Regulation 853\/2004 (DEFRA).<\/p><h5>Key definition according to the regulation<\/h5><p>Raw milk, under British legislation, is defined as \u201cmilk produced by the secretion of the mammary gland which has not been heated to more than 40 \u00b0C or subjected to a treatment giving an equivalent effect\u201d.<\/p><p>The new documentation is required to prove that the product does not fall into this category.<\/p><h5>Specific rules for Italy<\/h5><p>From 25 June 2025, <strong>imports into the United Kingdom of raw milk and derived products treated at temperatures below pasteurisation are suspended<\/strong>, unless a maturing process began before 23 May 2025.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-c3694e3 elementor-widget elementor-widget-spacer\" data-id=\"c3694e3\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"spacer.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-spacer\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-spacer-inner\"><\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-f96d63a elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"f96d63a\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">What does this mean for temperature-controlled transport?<\/h2>\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-6bfdb3b elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"6bfdb3b\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>If you have medium-risk dairy products, in order to continue exports to the United Kingdom it is essential to:<\/p><p>Use exclusively the GBHC416 certificate, available in updated format on TRACES or other official channels.<\/p><ul><li>Attach an explicit declaration or a production certificate certifying the heat treatment with a temperature above 40 \u00b0C.<\/li><li>Clearly and transparently indicate this minimum temperature in the documentation.<\/li><\/ul><p><strong>Attention<\/strong>: in the absence of this evidence, the British authorities may reject the entire shipment.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-00bce36 elementor-widget elementor-widget-spacer\" data-id=\"00bce36\"
